学术报告摘要:

During the seminar, I shall provide a brief introduction to fiber lasers and soliton concepts that help to understand the great variety of ultrashort pulse dynamics obtained in fiber laser experiments. In particular, the dissipative soliton paradigm is used to interpret paradoxical dynamics that exist in the vicinity of the conventional mode-locked regime. As a vivid illustration, and by using a real-time spectro-temporal imaging technique, I will present evidence of vibrating soliton molecules and spectral rogue waves in ultrafast fiber laser experiments.

Philippe Grelu教授简介:

Philippe Grelu has been Professor of Physics at Université de Bourgogne, in Dijon, France, since 2005. After receiving his PhD at University of Orsay (Paris XI) in quantum optics (1996), his interest moved to ultrafast nonlinear optics and mode-locked fiber lasers. He developed a key expertise in nonlinear optical cavity dynamics, with major contributions in the fast-developing area of dissipative solitons. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and edited recently the book “Nonlinear optical cavity dynamics”, Wiley-VCH (2016).
