要:How to slow down sound wave propagation is an interesting topic that not only matters about fundamental explorations of slow wave physics, but also will benefit a lot of applications. A successful solution will pave the way towards freewheeling sound manipulation. In this talk, we will introduce two different types of acoustic metamaterials that can actually slow down acoustic wave propagation through different physical mechanisms: one by high dispersion and another by refractive index tuning and wave-front revolution. Through simulation results and experimental output, we will present the exciting performance of such metamaterials and the fascinating things that they can do.
